Good oral health is an important part of good overall health!
Fortunately, having good oral health is simple, particularly when started in young children. Dental cavities is a preventable disease that can affect a child’s overall health, and a child should have their first dental assessment by age one*.
Children 1 - 3 years of age can receive a FREE dental screening and fluoride treatment at the Village Square Community Health Centre
(2623 56 Street NE, Calgary, Alberta, T1Y 5J1)
Mosaic PCN offers oral health screening and fluoride varnish application for children 1-3 to help prevent cavities and promote good oral health. This program operates alongside Well Child immunization programs for children in this age group.
A health care professional will provide a cavity risk assessment, oral health screening, fluoride varnish application, help access dental care with a dentist or dental hygienist, and answer common questions parents may have about keeping their child’s mouth healthy.
The service is available for all children between 1-3 years, and the child does not have to receive immunization at the Village Square site. The service is offered 3-5 days/week and is offered as a first come-first served basis.
Call 403-955-1400 for hours of operation, or if you have questions about the oral health screening program.

| Aside from the screening program for children age 1-3, Mosaic PCN physicians can also refer children 0-5 to see a dental hygienist. |
