Choosing to quit smoking feels great!
Smoking is a recognized problem for women of childbearing age in the Mosaic community. In response, Mosaic PCN offers group sessions specifically for women of child-bearing age in order to help them quit smoking and reduce the risks of tobacco use for children among this population. This program is called Tobacco Reduction and Child-Bearing Years (TRACY).
The TRACY classes consist of four group sessions, each an hour long in duration, with a maximum enrollment of 20 people in each set of classes. To date, facilitators have included social workers, behavioural health consultants, and nursing staff. This program is offered in collaboration with Alberta Health Services and is exclusively for women of childbearing years. The purpose of TRACY is to address and manage the fetal risks associated with smoking, tobacco use and nicotine exposure.
How to Access:
Mosaic PCN membership is not required; anyone can self-refer to the free TRACY program, or talk to your physician.
